The Lake Malawi Sailing Marathon is an annual 8-day sailing adventure

About the Marathon

The Lake Malawi Sailing Marathon is an annual 8-day sailing adventure that takes participants along the western shore of Lake Malawi from Cape Maclear in the south to Chinteche in the north. This unique event combines competitive sailing with exploration of Malawi's beautiful lakeshore.

Established in 2010, the marathon has become one of the most challenging and rewarding sailing events in Southern Africa, testing both sailing skills and endurance while showcasing the stunning landscapes and welcoming communities along Lake Malawi.

Important: All participants must attend the mandatory safety briefing on Day 1. Weather conditions may significantly affect the schedule - please check with organizers daily.
