About the Regatta
The Lake Malawi Annual Regatta is the premier sailing event in the region, attracting competitors from across Southern Africa. This three-day event features races in multiple classes, from beginner to advanced, with categories for different boat types.
Established in 1990, the regatta has grown into one of the most anticipated events on the regional sailing calendar. Participants enjoy not only competitive racing but also social events, awards ceremonies, and the stunning natural beauty of Lake Malawi.

- Laser Standard - Single-handed dinghy
- Hobie Cat 16 - Double-handed catamaran
- J/22 - Keelboat (crew of 3-4)
- Optimist - Youth class (under 16)
- RS Feva - Youth double-handed
